NASA announced on Monday the astronauts for the Artemis II lunar flyby, scheduled to launch in November 2024. Among them are Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch from NASA, along with Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency. Wiseman, an astronaut since 2009, will lead the mission as the commander.
Hansen, one of four active Canadian astronauts, is the first Canadian designated for deep space travel. Glover, with significant military service and spaceflight experience, expressed the importance of this mission for humanity’s journey to Mars.
Koch, known for her spacewalks and record-setting female spaceflights, is also part of the crew.
