Fifty Years Is a Long Time to Stay Relevant
Half a century in any creative partnership is rare. The conversation around U2, with Bono and The Edge reflecting on what the band still means and what would finally make them stop, is a reminder that longevity is not an accident. It is the result of constant maintenance, honest reassessment, and a clear sense of purpose. Anyone who has kept a product alive for years will recognize the pattern.
Software faces the same question. A system that launches well is only the beginning. The real test comes years later, when the original team has moved on, the requirements have shifted, and the code has to keep serving customers without breaking. Asking what a product is for, and whether it still earns its place, is as useful in an engineering review as it is in a band’s studio.
AI Products Are Still Software Products
The current wave of AI tools makes this lesson more urgent. It is easy to build a convincing demo of an agentic workflow or a language model feature in a weekend. It is much harder to make that feature hold up under production traffic, secure user data, integrate cleanly with existing systems, and remain understandable after several release cycles. At ABIE, we start from the premise that AI products are still software products. Behind every model sits an application that must be architected, secured, integrated, tested, and monitored.
That means treating LLM integration as a serious engineering problem, not a bolt-on. It means designing API boundaries that let a model be swapped as the technology changes, building cloud back-ends that scale predictably, and writing tests that catch the failures that matter to real users. Machine learning software built this way is easier to own and easier to explain to the next team that inherits it.
Built to Last, Not Just Launched
Over the past two decades, ABIE has shipped more than 450 products to production across more than 20 industries, reaching over 300,000 users. Our work spans custom enterprise software, native iOS and Android apps with payments and real-time data, and platforms that connect older systems to newer ones. The lesson from that record is consistent: longevity comes from architecture decided early, security treated as a constant, and code that a future engineer can understand without a tour guide.
We also help leadership teams and their people through AI adoption, because a tool only lasts if the organization can use and govern it. Our AI training programs move teams from curiosity to practical capability, so that the people who depend on a system know what it does and where its limits are.
