Mabel Willis turned 11 recently, and her proud mom commemorated the occasion with a heartfelt montage of family photos and videos set to The Cure’s “Pictures Of You.” Heming Willis expressed her joy in an Instagram post, saying, “Happy 11th Birthday Mabel Ray! Your energy is infectious, and you light up a whole room with your smile and warmth.”
The couple, Heming Willis and Willis, who tied the knot in 2009, share two daughters together. Willis also has three daughters from his previous marriage to Demi Moore. The love and care Willis has for his family are evident from the heartfelt moments captured in the montage shared by Heming Willis.
In another touching post last month, Heming Willis honored Willis on his 68th birthday, describing him as “pure love.” The family’s journey took a different turn in February when they disclosed that Willis was battling a speaking disorder called aphasia which has progressed into a form of dementia known as frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
FTD is a group of disorders that result from progressive nerve cell loss in the brain’s frontal or temporal lobes, areas associated with personality, behavior, and language, as per the Alzheimer’s Association. The family hopes to raise awareness about this disease and the urgent need for more research and treatments.
