Finland’s left-wing Prime Minister Sanna Marin has conceded defeat in the parliamentary election, with the right-wing National Coalition Party (NCP) claiming victory. The NCP is expected to win 48 of the 200 seats in parliament, closely followed by the nationalist Finns Party and Marin’s Social Democrats.
NCP leader Petteri Orpo aims to “fix Finland” and its economy, vowing to form a coalition to secure a majority in parliament. Marin, known for her progressive leadership, faced criticism for her government’s spending.
